Cute Lifts ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application, Cute Lifts (the "App").
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1) Key Concepts and Definitions
"User Content" means the fitness-related content you create or store in the App, including workout logs, custom exercises, templates, measurements, notes, and similar data.
"Service Data" means limited diagnostic, technical, and usage information we may collect and store to operate, secure, and improve the App. Service Data does not include the contents of your workout logs or HealthKit data.
2) What the App Does With Your Fitness Data
Your workout data and other User Content are stored:
- Locally on your device; and
- If you enable iCloud, in your personal iCloud/CloudKit account for synchronization across your devices.
We do not host your User Content on our own servers. This means we generally cannot access the contents of your workouts, measurements, or templates stored in your iCloud.
3) Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly (On-Device / iCloud)
Depending on how you use the App, you may provide:
Account and Profile (optional items may be blank)
- Name (as provided via Sign in with Apple, if available)
- Optional display name
- Optional profile photo
Fitness and Preferences (User Content)
- Workout logs, exercises, sets, notes
- Body measurements you choose to log
- Preferences (units, themes, training days, equipment and plate inventory)
- Gamification progress (XP, achievements, streaks)
This information is stored on your device and in your iCloud (if enabled).
3.2 Service Data (May Be Transmitted Off-Device)
We may collect and store Service Data, such as:
- Diagnostic information (e.g., crash logs)
- Performance data (e.g., app responsiveness, error rates)
- Technical details (e.g., app version, device model, iOS version)
- Limited usage events (e.g., which features/screens are used, subscription status checks)
Service Data is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App. We do not use Service Data for advertising and we do not sell it.
3.3 Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We may receive signals necessary to unlock Premium features (e.g., subscription status). We do not receive your full payment card details.
4) Apple Health / HealthKit (Optional)
If you choose to enable Apple Health integration, the App may read and/or write certain HealthKit data to provide features you request.
Data Written to Apple Health (examples)
- Workouts (type, duration, active energy where applicable)
- Weight
- Body fat percentage
Data Read from Apple Health (examples)
- Weight and body fat percentage (to sync into the App)
- Height, age, and biological sex (used only for calorie estimation calculations, if you use that feature)
Important:
- Apple Health integration is optional and controlled by you in iOS settings.
- HealthKit data is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers.
- We do not use HealthKit data for advertising and we do not share HealthKit data with third parties.
5) How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide Core App Functionality
- Log workouts and track progress
- Calculate and display personal records and analytics
- Sync your User Content across your devices via iCloud/CloudKit (if enabled)
Personalize Your Experience (On-Device)
- Display insights based on your history
- Track gamification progress
- Apply your settings and preferences
Operate, Secure, and Improve the App (Service Data)
- Troubleshoot crashes and errors
- Improve performance and reliability
- Understand which features are useful
- Maintain service integrity and security
Manage Subscriptions
- Verify subscription status and enable Premium features
6) What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not run ads in the App.
- We do not use your data for cross-app tracking.
- We do not host your workout logs or HealthKit data on our servers.
7) Sharing and Disclosure
7.1 No Sale of Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
7.2 Service Providers
We may use service providers to help us operate the App (for example, to process Service Data, deliver communications, or support diagnostics). When we do, we require appropriate safeguards and only share what is necessary for the relevant purpose.
7.3 Apple Services
The App uses Apple services, which are governed by Apple's policies:
- Sign in with Apple (authentication)
- iCloud/CloudKit (sync across devices, if enabled)
- StoreKit / App Store (subscriptions)
7.4 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
8) Data Storage and Security
8.1 Local Storage and iCloud Sync
User Content is stored locally on your device and (if enabled) in your personal iCloud/CloudKit account.
8.2 Security Measures
We implement appropriate measures to protect information, including:
- App sandboxing (iOS security model)
- Encryption in transit for iCloud/CloudKit communications
- Secure credential handling via Apple Sign In and iOS Keychain protections
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect data within the scope of our role.
9) Your Rights and Choices
9.1 Access and Control of User Content
You can view and edit your User Content within the App.
9.2 Export
The App may provide a CSV export feature for Premium subscribers. If you are located in the UK/EEA/Switzerland and would like assistance exercising data portability rights for any information we control (such as Service Data), contact [email protected].
9.3 Deleting Your Data
User Content deletion is controlled by you:
- Delete individual records within the App (where available), and/or
- Delete the App to remove local data, and/or
- Remove Cute Lifts data from iCloud via iOS Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Account Storage (or similar path depending on iOS version)
Service Data deletion:
- You may request deletion of Service Data associated with you by contacting [email protected], subject to legal obligations and legitimate retention needs (e.g., security).
9.4 HealthKit Controls
You can enable or disable HealthKit access in iOS Health settings at any time.
10) Data Retention
User Content
- Local User Content remains on your device until you delete it.
- iCloud User Content remains in your iCloud account until you remove it.
Service Data
We retain Service Data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including security, troubleshooting, and improvement, and then delete or de-identify it. As a general guideline, we aim to retain Service Data for no longer than 24 months, unless a shorter or longer period is required for security or legal compliance.
11) Children's Privacy
Cute Lifts is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12) International Data Transfers
If you use iCloud, your User Content may be transferred to and stored on servers operated by Apple that may be located outside your country of residence. Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy and data protection practices.
Service Data we process may also be stored or processed in countries where we or our service providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards.
13) Legal Bases (UK/EEA/Switzerland)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: to provide the App features you request
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the App (particularly Service Data)
- Consent: where you have given consent (e.g., HealthKit access)
14) Regional Disclosures
14.1 UK/EEA/Switzerland (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate updates by changing the "Last Updated" date and may provide notice in the App for material changes.
